Flag of Armenia, one of the state symbols of Armenia. It is defined by the Constitution of Armenia the law on the flag. It consists of red, blue, and orange colors from top to bottom in evenly spaced horizontal stripes.
Today’s tricolor flag bears little resemblance to former Armenian flags. In ancient times, armies went to battle, carrying carved rocks on the front pillars. Engravings could represent a dragon, eagle, tiger or some mysterious divine object. With the adoption of Christianity, the Armenian state borrowed many different flags, which represented different dynasties. The flag of the Artashesian dynasty, for example, consists of a red cloth depicting two eagles looking at each other and separated by a flower.
